Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. David Octavius Hill (illustrator). 2 Volumes, half bound black leather on marbled boards, Front hinge on each volume has detached. All gilt edges, Gilt decoration to spine with titles and date on gilt. Vol. 1- has 47 plates all present Vol 2- has 35 plates listed of which 34 are present. the one missing is the first listed as page "vii Professor Wilson's Essay on the Life and Writings of Burns". Appears to have been included in prelims which are present but are blank pages. Nice more or less complete set in need of strengthening to hinges. Interesting as so far as illustrations by David Octavius Hill the prominent artist and early photographer.
